The milk for their ices is collected fresh every day from the milking parlour so the ice cream comes literally from ‘pasture to pot’ in one day! Granny Gothards Ice Creams have been, is, and always will be, made from the finest dairy ingredients.
Gothards Farm have won several awards, most recently ‘Farmer of the Future 2008’, and Granny Gothards has also recently been recognised for its outstanding quality. Gothards gorgeous black and white cows are at the heart of the business and Gothards pride themselves on great animal welfare, comfort and stress-free surroundings. Ten mouth watering flavours of Ice Cream and three tantalising sorbets are on offer at The Lemon Tree.
Tea Pigs was started in 2006 by Nick and Louise who used to work for a really big tea company where they learned all about tea and drank lots of it! From there, they decided to bring a whole world of quality teas to everyones attention; the afternoon they deserved.
They only sell teas of the highest quality, and never compromise on quality, and it means they only sell Whole Leaf Tea, from selected estates, which they supply either as loose leaf or in a ‘Tea Temple’. Whole leaf tea; means quality real tea, whole leaf herbs and whole flowers. It’s all about the flavour – regular tea bags have been squashed, chopped and manhandled, so by the time it reaches your sup, almost all the flavour is lost. With their ‘Tea Temples’, they have been handled gently with love, to maintain every drop of that precious flavour. The Temple is a roomy, biodegradeable mesh bag which offers all the space whole leaves need and infuse properly; thus producing a wonderful cup of tea!
The Lemon Tree are pleased to stock Tea Pigs and have selected ten great flavours for your enjoyment.
Based in Bristol, and delivering across the Country, Wogans Coffee have been roasting and supplying coffee to the trade and the individual customers for over 40 years. They are the South Wests largest independent roaster and were established in 1970 and soon gained a strong reputation for excellent coffees and service.
Wogans work closely with some amazing Chefs who understand that an excellent meal can be let down by indifferent coffee. Between them, they develop the perfect coffees to suit their Restaurants and clientele. You can purchase either beans or in ground form. An Italian blend, ‘Riposo’ has been offered at The Lemon Tree since day one, and the feed back and favourable comments from customers is on-going.
West Camel Bakery
The bakery was built in 1903 on the A303, and later, a cottage was built next door for the workers. The bakery has not changed much, but the original coke ovens have been changed to oil. They are steam tube ovens and hold 164 loaves. The baker buys his flour in Bristol and it is mostly made from English wheat, but some strong Canadian wheat is bought too.
The baker starts at 3.30am to make the bread and cakes to be sold on that day. The shop is open to passing trade but most customers live in surrounding villages and three vans are used for deliveries. Particularly popular at The Lemon Tree is the excellent granary bread and cottage rolls, but equally in demand are the sumptuous tea cakes for which we can seldom keep up with demand – they are just delicious toasted with melting butter!
We offer a limited take-away service including: teas, coffees, sandwiches and paninis.
